About us

The Huron River Flyfishing Club (HRFFC) is a non-profit organization and a Charter Club of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF), Inc. Members of the HRFFC are also members of FFF. The primary purpose of the club is to enhance our enjoyment of the sport of fly fishing, in particular fly fishing on the Huron River. Our objectives are…

 To provide members with a forum for education and resource stewardship through the sport of fly fishing;
 To promote fly fishing through education as the most enjoyable and sporting method of fishing, and the method most consistent with the preservation and conservation - wise use - of our fishing waters and game fish;
 To share the best practices and techniques of fly fishing, fly tying, casting, and other related subjects;
 To be the local voice for organized fly fishers as part of the Federation, maintaining liaison with other conservation and sporting organizations, and with the governmental agencies involved in so many aspects of our sport;
 To provide a forum for networking with fellow fly fishers in an atmosphere of fellowship and sportsmanship.

Annuals dues are $20 plus the cost of membership to the FFF if you are not already a member. Meetings are generally held twice a month, with an activity scheduled for one of the monthly meetings during the summer months.

There is an online discussion forum covering topics of interest to HRFFC members. Click on “Fly” for general flyfishing discussions and on “Huron River Flyfishing Club” for discussion and announcements specific to the club. Our members range from licensed guides and commercial fly tiers to novices interested in learning about fly fishing, so everyone is welcome!
